For many farmers the generation of biogas from agricultural waste and energy plants has become a new line of business. Provided that the adequate legal framework is in place, the guaranteed feed in tariff for the generated eco-power provides them with a regular income. Making innovative and the best possible use of waste heat improves the efficiency of a biogas plant.

If energy crops are used, a stable business model is a precondition for a sustainable economically efficient operation of a plant, given the price fluctuations on the raw material markets.

Thanks to gas processing techniques and the possibilities of feeding it into the natural gas grid, the opportunities for using biogas are expected to increase in the future. All the possible applications for natural gas – from the production of heat and power to propelling vehicles – are available.

The digestion residue, the liquid and solid end product of digestion, is a valuable material to be spread as organic fertiliser. Optimised for the raw materials used and the routes of recovery for the digestion residue, a processing and marketing line for the digestion residue is being co-developed, thus closing the material cycle.

RENERGIE implements projects which it has developed itself or offers itself as a partner for planned or existing plants. Expertise gained from its own plants in Austria and Germany is contributed to upcoming projects.
