June 2010: ground-breaking ceremony – Small Hydroelectric power plant
The newly founded company Ökoenergie Feistritztal Feistritztal GmbH - a subsidiary of RENERGIE Raiffeisenmanagementgesellschaft für erneuerbare Energie GmbH and Elektrizitätswerke Eisenhuber GmbH & Co. KG - is going to construct a small hydroelectric power plant for the production of ecological electricity on the banks of the River Feistritz.
The conceptual design of the small hydroelectric power plant, using a Francis-spiral turbine will combine the processed driving water from the existing power station Feistritz in the penstock and converts into renewable energy further downstream.
Using a Francis - spiral turbine, engineered from the Lower Austria based water power specialist Kössler, and a performance close to 300 kW, a respectable annual production of 1,600.00 kWh is anticipated.
Ökoenergie Feistritztal GmbH takes great pride in sourcing local suppliers and companies to carry out their projects. With an investment sum of over 1.6 million EUR important value is added to this region.
