RENERGIE Lübars GmbH&Co KG
In Lübars, a site close to Magdeburg (Saxony-Anhalt/Germany), RENERGIE Lübars GmbH&CoKG is building a biogas plant with an electrical output of 500 kWel. Apart from whole-plant silage from maize and sorghum, large quantities of pig manure from the piggeries of agricultural partners are used as feedstock. The digestions residue is a high-value fertiliser, which is spread onto the farmland.
The plant will generate some 4,000,000 kWh of green power. The heat produced will be used, inter alia, to heat the pig stables.
Not only is the approx. 2500 t of CO2 p.a. which would normally be emitted due to the production of green power and heat reduced by the plant, but the reduction is even higher as the utilisation of pig manure prevents, to a large extent, the formation of methane in the slurry tanks at the farms.
